Lahori home design has moved on from the heavy gloss and gold era. Here's what we're actually drawing into 2026 builds, and why each trend is sticking.
1. The reintroduced courtyard
Even on 10 marla plots, clients are asking for small internal courtyards, partly for light, partly for the cooling effect, and partly because they remember their grandparents' homes.
2. Muted, earthy palettes
Off whites, warm terracotta, deep olive. Stark white is fading; honey toned wood is back. Paint suppliers in Lahore have noticed.
3. Functional kitchens, not showpieces
Closed working kitchens with separate display kitchens are becoming standard, a return to how Pakistani families actually cook.
4. Solar ready electrical from day one
Even if the panels come later, smart clients are wiring for solar at the grey structure stage. It's a fraction of the cost vs retrofitting.
5. Smaller, smarter bedrooms
Master suites are shrinking; closets and en suite layouts are being prioritised over raw square footage. Quality over quantity, finally.
